Holland’s Uniform Color Company expanding, creating 13 jobs

Oct 16, 2024

HOLLAND — A local business expansion will bring 13 new jobs to Holland.

Uniform Color Company, founded in 1981, is planning a $12 million, 25,000-square-foot expansion of its Holland headquarters at 942 Brooks Ave. The expansion will include new machinery and equipment.

Uniform Color’s expansion was one of three in West Michigan announced by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Thursday, Feb. 29. Each received support from the Michigan Strategic Fund.

Uniform Color received a $195,000 performance-based grant through the Micro Michigan Business Development Program.

The company is a producer and full-service provider of “high-performance color and additive masterbatch for thermoplastics.” Customers include those in the automotive, furniture, packaging and industrial sectors.

Holland has offered a 50% tax abatement to support the project.

“This project will create new jobs for our community and our state and add to our economic health and quality of life,” Holland City Manager Keith Van Beek wrote in a release. “We appreciate the partnership with the state of Michigan to make this project possible.”

Other projects announced Thursday include SnackCraft in Kentwood, which is investing $29.9 million and creating 37 new jobs, and Profielnorm USA in Plainwell, which is creating 32 new jobs with a $7.5 million investment.
